I really notice it at times like when it rains too, where nothing actually gets wet and you don't get puddles pooling and so on. Would be nice to have DLSS etc since the FPS is pretty bad.
There's no UE5 contenders to DAYZ/Arma and there's likely good reasons there (currently) aren't.
I don't see it happening, but who knows?
and ue5 might look amazing, but it will struggle with huge dynamic worlds like dayz has.
I play at 4k and it looks bad and dated to me.
I love DayZ so please don't get me wrong but the game looks incredibly dated, textures at a moderate distance turn to mush that look very 2005 and next time you're in the rain take note how how the rain is really only the rain drop and audio effect of rain but little else.
DayZ has a unique vibe and I think looking down a tree lined valley in Chernarus (my fav map still) into a setting sun as the wind is howling has a feel like no other game. I just wish it looked more like a game from the last 10 years.
It runs terribly for how it looks too, I have a 4090 and 7800X3D with 64GB RAM etc and maxed out the FPS is lucky to break 80 FPS and it feels very laggy. I would love to see DayZ get an upgrade as the game has grown a lot and it has been getting the love I thought it deserved
If you referring to 1080p it is most popular resolution on steam and will be many years to come, seeing how new games run on even newest hardware.. i will always prefer 1080p with more fps than higher resolution with lower fps
