DayZ
Engine update?
Will there at any point or is there a possibility DayZ upgrades to a new graphical engine like Unreal Engine 5? DayZ still have tons of potential, just has extremely dated graphics and combat.

Update DayZ.
I wonder if Bohemia Interactive can update DayZ to Amra Reforgers engine. From the movement to the shooting. DayZ just feels dated and clunky.
какой UE5? у меня комп не потянет

Yeah it does look incredibly dated and it runs terribly even on high end hardware.

I really notice it at times like when it rains too, where nothing actually gets wet and you don't get puddles pooling and so on. Would be nice to have DLSS etc since the FPS is pretty bad.

Arma Reforger is the test bed for the new Enfusion game engine .. eventually, DayZ will either be put on the new Enfusion engine, or there will be a DayZ 2 on the new Enfusion engine .. DayZ will never be put on Unreal engine, since Bohemia has their own in-house engine.

it's easier and makes more sense to build a DayZ 2 on the final enfusion engine.

well, they did Vigor on the Unreal engine but that was for consoles and a contract work, I guess.
why make forks when you have a spoon factory full off staff who make spoons with a rich heritage of spoon making, even if they're not always perfect?

There's no UE5 contenders to DAYZ/Arma and there's likely good reasons there (currently) aren't.

I don't see it happening, but who knows?

arma reforger already looks very very nice. there is no need for ue5 really.
and ue5 might look amazing, but it will struggle with huge dynamic worlds like dayz has.

maybe it is just me, but the game is what it is and i just play it and enjoy what we have. if the graphic are not up to "your" standard, maybe you need to find something you are graphicly happy with. idk good luck.

Its not as clunky as Arma 3. So....it could be worse lol. :CunningPepeYellow:

I don't see how can someone say game looks bad, game may be old but looks really good. sometimes i just stop to watch how nature or houses look and i play only on 1080p

Some peoples computers are older than the game...

I play at 4k and it looks bad and dated to me.

I love DayZ so please don't get me wrong but the game looks incredibly dated, textures at a moderate distance turn to mush that look very 2005 and next time you're in the rain take note how how the rain is really only the rain drop and audio effect of rain but little else.

DayZ has a unique vibe and I think looking down a tree lined valley in Chernarus (my fav map still) into a setting sun as the wind is howling has a feel like no other game. I just wish it looked more like a game from the last 10 years.

It runs terribly for how it looks too, I have a 4090 and 7800X3D with 64GB RAM etc and maxed out the FPS is lucky to break 80 FPS and it feels very laggy. I would love to see DayZ get an upgrade as the game has grown a lot and it has been getting the love I thought it deserved

If you referring to 1080p it is most popular resolution on steam and will be many years to come, seeing how new games run on even newest hardware.. i will always prefer 1080p with more fps than higher resolution with lower fps
