DayZ

What's the meaning of this game's title?
Day Zombie?
Day 26 (Z is the 26th letter)
Daisy?
Days?
Day Zero?

That's all I can come up with.

DayZ the Z = Zero.

Question:{Some guy in the crowd} A lot of current zombie games incorporate ridiculous elite "Zombies" that explode or spit blood or all of that sort of junk. Are you going to include any of these sort of elite "Zombies" or are you planning to up the tension of your game by just increasing the mass amount of "Zombies".

Answer:{Rocket} I originally, I dont think anyone noticed, I dont think anyone actually did. I recently went through and was very particular about calling them "Infected" and not "zombies" cause i tried to convince myself that they weren't really "Zombies", but I really wanted it to be an authentic scenario. That was really important because I felt to me that I needed to feel connected to the situation in my character.

DayZ isn't just short for Day Zombie, it's quite clever and ambiguous as it actually refers to Day Zero, the day you spawn on the beach/the beginning of the end, but not everyone gets it.

I remember hearing DayZ means Day Zero. Which means the first day a deadly infection starts to spread. I dunno... I saw it on the discussions earlier this year.

The "Z" in DayZ is silent. It's also more like an insignia.
