new to dayZ

hello i've been playing dayZ for like a few hours and i've been having trouble telling what city or town i'm and can't tell what the ♥♥♥♥ where i'm in the map and my friend is trying to find me yet he can't tell where i am because i suck so much at describing details is there a way to tell where i'm at like city/where the signs are telling me where i'm at pls gooby help me.

The roads leading into any village/town/city will have road-signs on the side of the road (the sign with the red line across it indicates you're leaving that village/town/city) and as Mortico has stated just us the map in the link http://dayzdb.com/map/chernarusplus#2.088.082

Alright no problem another tip "The Clouds in Chernarus always travel from the West to the East".

kill urself. i doubt u have anything that couldnt be regained in 30min. Then you will spawn on the coast.
