DayZ How to avoid Zombies since update?

Ok I am new to DayZ, only been playing a few days, it has been very challenging and a little frustrating (especially after I broke a leg!) but since this patch its a whole new ballgame.

It was ok before, rarely saw a zombie so at least I had a chance to get some equipment before I am set upon and inevitably bleed to death afterwards.

Now I am set upon after every respawn almost immediately. You have to go to a town to get food etc and especially a weapon! but now the towns are crawling with zombies and for some reason, I can barely outrun them anymore. I cant stand toe to toe with them because one love tap and I bleed to death??! and I havent had enough time to find a weapon so I cant kill them quickly enough before they hit me and they glitch all over the place so no shut door is going to stop them and they have an uncanny ability to see you even through walls!!!

Yes I know its ALPHA! but this game has been around a long time now in its Arma 2 form. Game balance at least should be right by now?

Come on BI, whats the point in a game that new players like me cant play for five minutes without dying?? at least give us a fighting chance ,spawning practically naked, alone, with only a torch and surrounded by superhuman powered zombies is a recipe for a rapid and unintersting death with very low repeat playability. I have given this game five hours of my life since the update and I can clearly say that I probably wont play it again now until the next patch.

Troll thread? its feedback, I paid to support a product in development, they changed that product for the worse in the latest pacth imho as my game experience has suffered as a result, if I want to let them or anyoen else know about it, I will.

I think those of ytou defending the game are all well practised players, with good equipment who have forgotten what its like to be a bambi, and without new players, this game will fail gentlemen sorry, so you should try encouragement over insult, or in shrapnels case, just keep dancing fella, have a fun time with that : )

ehm this is a zombie game so there should be zombies in it or the game would be like rust so if u hate zombies go and play rust and just so u know when the game is done there will be over 2000 zombies :s

Wow what a change in tone, if you had started off like this you'd probably have gotten tons of tips on how to improve your playstyle by this stage of the thread.

THis is something I do with what little spare tiem I have around work and family commitments, it isnt fun or enjoyable to die over and over within 5 minutes of spawning without so much as a chance of survival. May as well spawn me in a pit of zombies, covered in raw steak with a rubber dog turd as a weapon.

I surive just fine after 0.44, Its only hard if you play dumb. By this I mean running thru towns making noise, shooting your gun for lols, Running in a straight line down a road. I think its impossible to die from starvation, food is everywhere and so is water.

I f only I had a gun mate, I dont live long enough since the patch. Will try some of the suggestions here such as running inland bnut you would have thought the coast towns near where you spawn would be the quieter ones to at least give you a chance.

The zombies spot me before I ever see them and beign in cover makes no difference, cot sure how 'playing clever' would help. Liek the idea of climbing up high and waiting, althoug not exactly stimulating game play.

I have done half this stuff lately and STILL nothing can kill me. Mostly I'm getting on roughly half full servers on hardcore in cherno and elekto trying to start a fight as I want to try the crossbow, But I hate to waste this like 200 rounds of sks ammo. I can't find anybody.

Just wait, when the dev's implement AI pathfinding and voxelization, you'll be happy to climb a second or higher level somewhere, and then when the zombies try to search for you without clipping, you can sneak past them using an alternate pathway, ;)

Oh and it's not really a GAME yet. It's the framework or the skeleton of a game. The idea that it should behave like a normal game at this time period(alpha) is what is causing you all these problems.

You must unlearn what you have learned.

Your braggin your not finding it a challenge but admittign to having an arsenal of weapons? give me a freaking gun and I will survive too, I just dont live long enough lol
