Weird. Are you using win 7 32-bit? If so, you need to use win 7 64-bit to be able to use all your RAM.

Try using - additional parameters. Right mouse button on DayZ in your steam game list and choose properties. There'll be Set Launch Options. Add -maxMem=12288 yet I have seen others adding only 8GB which is 8192.

The game will only use 2GB RAM by default at most no matter what.

Actually your wrong. If you manually allocate it can use at max 4gb.

Also! If you are on a 32 Bit it caps your Ram at 4gb but 64 bit goes 64gb.

The supported limit has not changed. Yet.

Allocating probably works for up to 4GB. DayZ is still a 32bit application.

I am using windows 7 32-bit. I tried to let it use max of my ram in msconfig. But it didn't help. Is it all because of my 32-bit? I have a disc of windows 7 64-bit, but before installing the disc, i want to be sure

2047MB is hardcoded maximum for the game and Arma 2 engine, the same applies for Arma 3 engine. Any -maxmem command over 2047 is ignored.

32-Bit Windows cant access more than 3,7GB of your 12GB RAM, you must install a 64-Bit version of Windows to access all your RAM.

Browse Google for the differens between 32 & 64 Bit systems.

if you have a win7 64 disc... why wouldn't you want to install it????

Late reply, but I edited my post before refreshing the page.
