Player Draw Distance?
Is there a way to adjust draw distance for seeing players?

My friend sees people at least twice the distance I can and he hasn't changed any settings whatsoever. Players just don't render for me for some reason unless they're fairly close (like <300m or so I'd guess). His video card is better than mine, but I really don't know if that's the reason why. Are there any settings that affect it or am I just kinda boned when it comes to sniping, looking for snipers, or just scoping out an area for players in general?

No problem, it is called viewDistance in the config file and I have not messed with it any but I might not bump that number up in huge increments right off the bat. Just in case your PC does not like it.

A lot of my numbers were actually much higher by default somehow. Maybe it was overtaxing my video card or something. Weird stuff.

If other plays are prone, you will not see them, no matter how much you turn up your settings.

They aren't prone though. Case in point: last night my friend and I were staking out Berezino's construction site. From where we were (like 600-800m away), he could see this huge firefight going on between two groups of people. I couldn't see a single person, while looking in the exact same spot. They just weren't rendering.

lower graphics cards tend to not render as far. screen size. higher terrain detail adds foilage. It's a known fact that lowering the terrain allows you to see players trying to hide in the grass
