This is not meant to be a balanced game, it's hardcore permadeath. Obviously if you have a gun, you're better off than the un-armed.
This is hard to believe. Because if you did play the mod, then you know the 1st rule to survive is to get off the coastal area and to get military gear inland.
Then you should know the mentality of this, that person has a gun; you don't. Trust me, a LOT of people complain about dying via another player; you're not the only one. Change your approach, stay out of the open if possible, sneak a majority of the time even if you think you're alone. If you don't like people in-game, try your best to stay away from people. Don't mind the person above (Space Cowboy), don't think he thought your post through well enough.
The mentality isn't at all different from the mod.
You're talking about fresh spawns, thus I mentioned the beach. If you're deeper inland then you should expect geared players to be hunting each other.
DayZ SA has improved much over the mod due to the simple fact that you don't need to loot military bases to get the best gear.
The mosin I'd say is by far the mostly deadly weapon in the game.
It's also an alpha so don't cry about it being unbalanced. We've all gotten thrown through a wall one time or another and sucked it up.
