dogs
i am worried for this feature, if you do not have enough food to keep your dog healthy, then you would have to let him go, or maybe, when you tame a dog (confirmed feature) it adds extra notifications to your screen, so your dog can die. Maybe the dog can get sick, hungry, thirsty, and unentertained. If the dog is too unentertained, he could become stubborn, and not move. I

do not think that dogs shoudl ever run away from you, unless you let them, of course.
This would require some lore,as in many books, the zombie virus just kills animals, but maybe it has no affect in this game. The lore for what zombies these are could be in a handbook maybe, in game. but i hope dogs are unnafected, and can take down zombies... but this furthers exhaustion and fear for them.

creating a training system for dogs so you can control if they attack or not would be helpful. at the start, they attack all zombies, so you ened to feed them more. if they are unentertained, they will start being scared, if they are scared they wont attack, so you ened to give your dog attention. This would add a big RP aspect to the game. In this system, you can teach dogs to watch for enemies, or deer, and such. Maybe they will retrieve ducks, or fowl, you shoot. my idea for training, each skill has to be taught.

1. hunting - retrieves birds for you

2. zombie attack - increases fear, but will attack zombies for you

3. warning, zombie - dogs are smart enough to tell teh difference of a zombie and a player, barks loudly if zombie detected.

4. Player attack - fear greatly increased, extremely risky to do

5. warning, player - will warn you if a player is near you

6. tracking - follows player trails, might take up too much of the server... but it could be worth it.

7. food finding - will sniff out for food in houses

sorry for the long read, please tell me what you think

Keep the dog for protection. Those k9 senses would warn you of danger long before you could sense it. He could attack zombies/badies from behind. And when the worlds supply of beans finally runs out it could be that meal that keeps you going till the next server restart. Thats the gift that keeps on giving if you ask me.

Ha dont mind me im just bitter cause I have two English Mastiffs. Between the two of em they're pushing nearly 400 lbs of animal. I would most definitely be the one to be eaten if push came to shove.
