changing my name in dayz?

I change my dayz nickname once, you open your game and then in the bottom to the right side of the screen is your nickname, you can change it there, I did it once allready, but at the moment I tried doing it 3 times and my name stays the same, any sugestions?

Don't change you name ? No one knows who you are anyway....

Maybe try reloading the game? Not had this problem personally.

Yeah, sounds like you've done some shady sh!t in the game and keep doing so. Is that why you need to keep changing your name?

No seriously.. NO ONE knows who you are, not name tags or kill feeds, or any other way to identify players ingame. Your nickname is totally irrelevant.

Make the person type as you stand before them. PRESS / or if your too stupid to find that key it''s ? then type, Only those within a certain amount of feet can read it. YOUR NAME IS STUCK TO THE TEXT !

I was on a server where there was a guy named BABYRAPER on it. I was forcing everyone I ran across to type there name. I only shot him. Telling everyone about this sick FECK's name.

people know who you are after you interact with them via items:
forcefeeding, restraining, saline bags etc

It's just that my name is written in my native language, and I just thought that I couldn't say it in english if someone asked me to, that's the only reason why I want to change my name, I like talking to people in the game and I just want to be prepared for that situation.

Nah it didn't work, I thought that mabie after my character's death it would change but it didn't...

Mabie there's other ways to change it? I know that I bought DayZ after changing your name in game was available, how did you change it before that?

At the moment my nick is Hantelis, which in english would mean dumbell, but there's no right way to spell it in english, so I'm changing my name to Jizanthapus. But it seems that I can't...

But isn't a way to "identify" players ingame.. remember the old discussions about "consequences for your actions" ?

You can kill 1000 people and no one will know who you are.

Yeah I know it sounds silly since none of these name actually have any meaning, Jizanthapus is just the name I heard in a comedy special of Louis Ck, but it doesn't sound so silly to pronounce it as the other one, since Jizanthapus is sort of more ''englishy''
