Cant Wear Helmet and Gas mask?

I heard something about it coming in a patch. I've been wearing a helmet and a gas mask for a long time, and took the helmet off today and it wouldn't let me put it back on with the gas mask. Is this a change that they made or a bug? Also, the fact that I cant wear both anymore, is the helmet even useful?

Was fixed with the 0.43 patch (so u cant have both). If you havent removed your helmet, you could still have both on :)

Lol yeah but i took it off while it was raining to put on my hat, so I'm screwed. Does the helmet actually make me harder to kill?

There is a slight chance that a shot will hit it and save your life, but that'd probably have to be from a lower caliber gun, and theres no saying that you won't still drop unconscious. All clothes have an armor rating, and though it isn't much, it can be enough to save your life... once.

Yes, it protects you more vs fists and some balistic dmg. Same with motorbike helmet. And as fas as i know, it allso stops 1 bullet from a .45 (havent tested this myself)

So should I wear the helmet or gas mask? I thought they looked cool together but the helmet by itself doesnt' look as cool as the gas mask, lol.

Im not sure if the gasmask has any function yet (not sure if it helps protect your head in any way) where any helmet does protect you to a degree.

I think it is kind of dumb because if you look at soldiers they frequently wear there helmet with there gas mask. you dont see a soldier not wear a gas mask because he has a helmet or no helmet because of gas mask.

I think helmet + gas mask is actually just one unit. They aren't two separate things being worn together, it is a specially designed helmet with a gas mask built in.

At least, the gas mask I used during my basic training was definitely not capable of wearing my ballistic helmet on top. Maybe it was just the design of the gas mask I used, but I googled gas mask and helmet, and it looked to me like it was one piece of equipment.

LMAO.....sorry guy but the helmet and protective mask used by the military are 2 separate items. 24 years service and I NEVER saw a military protective mask that couldn't be worn with a helmet.

Guess the old crap they let the recruits use at basic aren't quite the same as things they actually use in the field lol

they say because of the clipping but imo the boonie hat gas mask combo clips worse than ballistic gas mask combo... and a baseball hat with gas mask the visor of the hat goes straight thru the lenses of the gas mask sooo your guess is as good as mine

Why can't it be a craftable item. Ballistic/UN/(That WWII Russian Helm') + GP5/Gas Mask = Helmet and Gasmask, which is worn as ONE item and counts for head slot? Could also be broken down into their individual items if somebody only wanted one?
