But right now it has no effect, except the status messages and item info.
You are probably the only person who claims that rain (at this point of game development) destroys stuff/clothing. Can u prove ur statement?
Well, I was speaking for the stable version, no items being ruined here, even after long times in the rain. I've had all my gear completely soaked, nothing ruined so far.
Don't know how it is on the new experimental side, though...
Rain is going to ruin items? That's realism? What, is it acid rain? Getting a can of beans or a magazine wet is not going to ruin squat. Dry it out by the fire and you're good to go. Too much tinkering I think, not enough core game fixing.
Exactly. But we don't know if Khost says about stable or experimental. And I don't think neither of them will have implemented system of rain destorying stuff, not yet.
Exactly. I love how my "Mountain" backpack gets ruined in the rain. I had that new pistol and it magically went from pristine to ruined in my backpack. I can only assume that it happened due to the rain? I think they are going way overboard with the way things get ruined. Shoot someone in the chest and all their backpack stuff gets ruined...including guns. It makes no sense. For a game that seems to be going for ultrarealism, it's starting to border on ridiculous quite honestly. If I kill someone I should get all of their gear in the same condition, not ruined.
