For me, coin toss between original Dawn of the Dead and 28 Days Later

dawn of the dead, original, is a cult (but remake has nice characters too). nothing can be compared to it. from characters, setting, story, music, atmosphere, etc.... another great one is tom savini's remake of night of the living dead. i personally like breakfast at the manchester morgue/let sleeping corpses lie. 28 days/months later is a masterpiece too, among newer ones. and i must mention shaun of the dead, even if it's not serious one, it is one of the greatest homages ever made to the genre. that's just top few, i've seen many 100s of em. but i am legend has nothing to do with zombies. at the best, i can say it's an interesting hollywood remake movie. resident evils are laugh. i can recommend mini series dead set. nice idea there. the walking dead is nice too, with terrible acting, but it gives some charm to it :D

yeah agree re: shaun of the dead. Brilliant comedy set against zombie situation. One of the few that has a positive ending too...

Thats strong coming with that 'like' the Will Smith ripoff is one of the worst films ive ever seen.
Resident Evil is almost Oscar material compared to that CGI monstrosity...

Braindead is great fun, not seen it for years, Sumatran Rat monkey wasnt it? lol

Day Of The Dead for the best gut ripping zombo action ever, plus its the 80's its hilarious..

Return Of The Living Dead Part 2 for the Thriller dancing Michael Jackson zombie at the end.

Dawn Of The Dead Original & Remake both for entriely different reasons.

Night Of The Living Dead - Original - "They're coming to get you, Barbra" How could anyone not like this film? Groundbreaking stuff..

28 Days Later - Only for a few scenes tho or first half of the film, the direction to get those shots in London were truely epic but the movie gradually falls apart as it goes along.

Shaun Of The Dead - By far the best comedy zombie film ever made,,, you get red on you;)

No particualr order as zombies have so much character in every film that it would be hard to pin it down.

"The Dead" franchise was fun and good sci-fi. "28 Days Later" was much more frightening as this could actually happen. A global viral infection is in the cards, sooner than later.

Day of The Dead (1985) is fantastic. The scene near the start of the movie where the woman calls-out to see if there's any survivors, and you can just hear hordes of zombies from within the city being awoken - really unsettling stuff.

all of the above but if you dont mind anime High School of the Dead (has comedy zombies and B00BS) cant go wrong with that mix

I seen it.. but i still prefer Dawn of the Dead, also what is wrong with "I am legend" ? As far as "infected" movies goes is actually one of the best.. and the book is brilliant, if you haven't read it.
