You don't.
Any people I run with I have met and gotten to know in other games before I will even mentioned Dayz to them.
Simply put, You will be suspect if I meet you ingame in DayZ and I don't know you from somewhere else, that is the downside of a community with a game with a reputation like this one has.
you carry the legendary "One punch KO" since the moment you spawn.
That is the fear and horror of geared players... Use it wisely.. :D
I've never murdered anyone who was unarmed or wasnt fully decked out. I try to be a hero, but whenever i approach other players they will shoot without saying a word.

Look on the Clans section of the forums, and find someone with similar interests, and find a few friends that way.
Or join a Squad/Clan.
Gerne möchten wir euch einladen mit uns zusammen zu überleben in der Welt von DayZ Standalone!

You can read pretty often that some players never meet KOS players inside DayZ just because they simply kill anyone they spot immediately (usually without saying a word to them, of course). That’s a pretty funny statement I think…
It's already happened to myself that I met someone in the game (a Fresh spawn) helped him and spent some time together and after a while he sent me his Steam name (Text chat) to add him via steam - while I was in Steam overlay he killed me in the game. The question which now arises is should you start to kill anyone you spot immediately from now on just because of such characters in the game? Would actions like that not indicate that you're going to become a coward yourself? The interaction with other players is for me one of the biggest fun factor in this game and without this point the game loses a very large advantage over other games (at least for me).
Anonymity, lack of content(yet) and no ostracism or punishment through the game points to the fact that this is intentional by the developers. Well, you can say: “Hey this is Early Access”! We will see how the Dev’s care about this point in the future…
The best kind of friends in DayZ are the ones you have as friends on steam already and those with whom you played together via TS or Skype. In other words friends are only possible in DayZ atm when you remove anonymity of the game via 3.party software (TS, Skype, steam etc.) ... and even that is not always a guarantee for true friends.
Though what am i saying, haven't seen one friendly in this game in my 100hours of playing.
