my screen shrunk to half size for some reason

Just for clarity did the game window shrink (so you could see your desktop in the background) or did your resolution get cut in half?

nah it had a pop up and it said something but i couldnt read it fast enough.
it's got something to do with the resolution but i cant fix it to how it was now it looks ♥♥♥♥♥♥

Hmm, check for similar bug reports/and or make up one for the issue, mention the window popup too.

Was it an ingame popup or a windows one?

I agree with Twitchey, check the bugtracker and post this. I haven't seen anyone else bring this up at all.

I would first try playing with the resolutions in the start menu, having it match your desktop resolution is somewhat important, and having both of the resolution settings at the same level will probably help too.

I haven't had any issues like this yet, and I am running dayz at 1440 x 900 (my desktop res), even though I can go up to 1680 x 1050.

There's a screen ratio setting in there too somewhere, the start menu is the best place to try and get it back to normal, if you have no luck you might have to wait for a response.

Either way, make a report, give your system specs etc, and make sure to mention it occured when the popup came up too.

The only popup I can remember for experimental was one for the farming hoe, but it did not cause this issue for me.

That's good, at least they know, did they give the other guy any advice on how to fix it? I'm guessing his specs were similar in some way.
