7 Days to Die vs DayZ?
I see Steam is promoting 7 days to Die. Has anyone tried this one and can give a good comparison?

yeah i have them all

depends on what kind of game u like

very different games

go watch some gameplay

dayz still needs another year or more before its finished

7daystodie right now is more playable / more finished...

7 days to die is voxel based open world with zombies, building, crafting, hunting, pvp and will have editor so people can make maps. lots of loot, map is a little small, but its cause its voxel and it would be painful to sync large detail map on network...

they will be soon adding smoother voxel engine they licensed then they got kickstarted so it will be looking better once they switch. also a lot of what u see is place holders

still it further ahead and more playable than dayz is right now.

the have different zombies and some basic ai behind them. but what ai they have is more advanced then even dayz mod

with regards to updates they do frequent enough updates and hot fixes in between.

i picked it up quite early way before kickstart and theyve done regular releases and fixes and are quite active in community. well worth checking out.

just keep in mind its voxel so they have to juggle performance vs look. you can have tiny voxel and make it look amazing, but then it would crawl on many people's boxes and worse on the network when u have someone join and they have to be synched with all the changes made to the world...

one big thing is that 7d2d is build on unity engine so they can go get over the counter stuff. nomt so easy for dazy cause its built on arma engine.. so u can make easier, faster, cheaper a game that feels like other aaa games with unity than arma. with arma u get bit clunky strange feel..

just check out gameplay. it will show u all...

Thing about 7 days to die is the enviornment is 100% destructable and buildable, which is why I was hoping starforge was going be farther along the way by now. Dayz everything is static and fixed. Also I don't think dayz will ever have advanced AI. You can sprinkle some sugar on dayz, add weather effects, throw tons of stuff into the spawn, add some vehicles but the game isn't going to be to far diffrent from what it is right now. 7 Days to die will also feature random world generation, user created maps, etc. Dayz has a huge map but everything is so far away from each other, takes away from a lot of the fun. I think the bigger potential payoff is going to be bigger with 7 days to die. Both games are 25% or so done so they will both improve. But the 7 days to die features far out number anything planned for dayz. I mean the dayz creators are hoping in a year to have features that 7 days to die already has. Dayz map is unique though and looks more realistic is really the biggest pay off for dayz at this point besides being a MMO. Also 7 days to die is deathmatch, multiplayer, single player. 7 days to die you can have your own server off your computer or play alone, so many diffrent options to change day night cycles etc. 7 days to die is rough to look at is the main drawback but it's getting better.

I regret buying 7 Days To Die. Definitely read and trust the first couple of reviews you see. Especially the negative reviews with the mass agreeing to it. Not worth it at that cost YET. Still hoping that someday I'll manage to start it back up and play again and with new updates.
