Ruger 10/22

So the new changelog for 0.34 mentions animations for a Ruger 10/22. It's, from what I can gather, a .22 LR rimfire semi-automatic rifle. I'm just trying to figure out where it could fit into the existing DayZ weapon structure. It would sport the lowest caliber we've seen yet so the shots to kill ratio would be fairly high. It would never be as good in close to medium range as an SKS is and it will never outshine the Mosin at extreme ranges. What do you guys think?

Most of the guns are a 1 shot kill so im guessing that it might be a 5 shot kill or something around that

I think the plan is to make military style weapons like the M4 and SKS much rarer. They'll add more civilian style weapons like the ruger10/22. I think they hope for dayz to be more realistic in terms of style of weapons. More one shot rifles, shotguns and hunting/sport guns etc. Will maybe make for a more immersive game. Will for example be harder to kill someone with a 10/22.

22lr are tiny bullets they will take a couple shots to put someone down

Yeah, that's true. The 10/22 could be the little brother to the SKS stat wise with the SKS being a straight upgrade. It'll be interesting to see what happens with spawnchances when he's added the bow, throwing knives and the like. I know he said that he's going to reduce the spawnchance of all military loot when more basic/civilian armaments make it into the game, and I love the thought of that! Stalking someone with a bow sounds great. ;)

Cpl. Rayu - YES! Quiet and 1 in the head would be enough. 50 yards is pretty good range for a .22LR - beyond that too much drop.
