New headset suggestions
Could anybody recommend a good headset between £40-70
Ive been looking at the plantronics gamecom 780 but reviews say the ears snap off after about 6 months, likewise others ive seen are just as bad

Would like a surround sound set

umm... razer has been making more and more ♥♥♥♥ products lately actually, ouroboros is a total regret since you have to manually calibrate the surface reading thing instead of it constantly doing it automatically, they're honestly the last company i'm gonna buy things from after this.

but yeah, a home theater setup definitely does help, that's why i don't give a ♥♥♥♥ about the sound quality out of headphones as i'll probably mute that and use the speakers still, no way in hell i'm gonna make the mistake of using one of those "you'll think it's 7.1" headsets, i'd prefer just plain old 2 channel, really.

♥♥♥♥ me, should i just get a blue yeti microphone and not get a headset at all? now i'm not sure.
Astros are ment to be really good if i had he money and could afford them i would get them but they are expensive.
Sennheiser too, i like them but again eplesive
Logitech? Not sure heard a few people have them though and they should be cheaper than the two above.

As for a Blue Yeti Mic and no headphones woudlnt that mean you would echo though on the speakers?

honestly, amazingly enough as it is, i don't at all, using a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ mic that's built into my webcam on the top of the monitor and when i skype call my friends for dayz they echo back, not me, it's weird, i know.
also, i'd think with a mic as nice as a professional one like that would have active noise canceling, wouldn't it?

only drawback is they can get a little uncomfortable after 3 or so hours

you'll probably hate the mouse, i gave up on my RAT 7 after RMAing it multiple times and the laser still freaks out and stops responding anytime it sees a piece of dust or something.

you guys got recommendations for a wireless one with a good mic? sound quality is irrelevant, i'll probably keep using my PC's home theater setup for the sound output, just want a better mic and not to rip the connections out when i stand up for a piss, only found the razer one for the noobie-box.

I use the Logitech g930's. Great headset.

hmm... i'll take a look, logitech stuff tends to suicide within a month or two for me though, thanks for the recommendation anyway.

I have no idea, im new to headphones and mics myself as i said on page one i got the gamecon 780's for £20 of flebay just hat i have seen on utube people seem to echo back from time to time.

I also looked at the 930s (logitechs) seemd ok, i think thaey are the ones dean is using in the office (he said he was using wireless logitch)

Considering this is my first headset and ive nothing to compare it too, im currently using a cheap stereo 2.1 cos i have no space or my surround sound sytem
im looking at gamecom 380 with a 7.1 sound card adaptor, instead of the 780 , comes to half the price

I have a pair of Gamecom 780 and I've been quite violent with the ears, they dont snap of easy at all. A cheap budget headset with great sound and the mic is brutal ( in a good way).

Downside is the cable length, but it still goes well.

Would you get surround sound with a normal headset? I dunno...

Mine have been fine with my ears, not tested my mic really as i dont really speak lol but yes the sound is pretty damn awesome had to turn the sound down was quite shocked at that.

As for the cable again, i agree i need to buy a long usb extension.
