Recover loot from my dead body

I looked all over to see if this was already asked, Im sure it was so sorry if this is a repeat. But if you die on a server and respawn on that server, can you hurry and find your body and recover the loot? Or is it gone forever?

Man I thought I made it back before ten but it was nowhere to be found. It was close to 10 though so maybe I was too slow? It also never respaned me when I clicked respawn, had to exit and sign back into the server. This mess up my chances?

logging out and back in would keep the body there, but counter stars when you see "You are dead"

yeah I think in that case I was too slow, crap. Signed in ysterday and right off it said had weird taste in my mouth. Never ate anything before logging out the day before, thought that was kind of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Ultimately led to my death too.

Yes I have many times over realised this. I love taht about it, but some unique things you would just like to not lose
