Never below 100 FPS.
Maybe avoid the first generation of Zotac 3080.
Good Luck!
What i mean, without any info about cpu and ram its like playing russian roulette to give you a clear no or yes to your question.
I5 4400 processor, 16 gb ram
Would an rtx 3080 fit in the same slot as a gtx 1060?
I'm no expert, but that CPU is too weak. I run a RTX2080Ti 11GB with an i5 7600 and I am planning to upgrade that to an i7 9th gen. (The highest compatible to my MOBO)
I don't think one can slot something as advanced as the 3080 into an old rig and expect it to work optimally, it won't. I also think that with 3080 let loose, 2080 prices would be easing down, making the 2080 the savvy choice for gamers.
When I upgraded from my 1070 to the 2080, I upgraded Mobo and Ram to keep up with the card. Also my case has 8 fans to keep everything cool, you can see the full spec on my Steam profile.
I run Dayz in 4K anywhere between 60 and 70FPS.
I would go with a 3070 and take the rest of the money to ugrade now (or in the next months) the board/cpu/ram with a "cheap" bundle.
Im using much faster highend oc hardware and my cpu&ram is still a bottleneck in a few games.

Holy hell, yeah after that many hours you may as well have the best experience you can afford
