Auto-Run Auto Run AutoRun
So, over time, Ive seen lots of folks ask this, and talked with lots of folks in game about this.
I figured it was worth posting. There is no auto-run feature in the game. HOWEVER: if you assign a mouse button as a back-up run command, you can shift/tab while pressing that mouse button to enter the steam overlay, and your character will remain running. then quickly exit the overlay, and you will remain running until you re click that mouse button again. pressing w while running this way will make you sprint.

Or you can also assign the fast run as the mouse key and not have to press any keys to sprint. ;)

yeaahhh.... I think you missed the point. This was about how to auto run, so you can remain running completely hands free. The point at the end was only that pressing w wont make you stop auto running, just makes you run faster.

Nooo... I think you missed the point. I have been doing this or a long time. Sprinting without pressing a single key.
when you ran in dayZ shift+tab same time and you mustn´t click anything now

Well, I guess I kinda did misunderstand what you meant. Thats cool, I'll have to try it, although I prefer not to sprint whenever possible, just because of the aggregious aiming penalties it applies if you have to shoot before having time to catch your breath.

A good way to combat this is to lay down. It takes maybe 2 seconds before you guy completely catches his breath and then you can stand back up. Works great if you see a guy in the distance and are short on breath.
