There's Anyway to put Water in the Oil Barrel?
So... As the tittle say, there's anyway that I can put water in the Oil Barrel and use it to fill canteen?

I was thinking if there's a way to store water to refil canteen without going to a pond, pump nor rain.

never tried but you can stash a jerrycan (fuel canister) into it. it holds some 20 ltr.

just empty the can before filling it with water from a pump

I can use the Fuel Canister to fill the Canteen when I return to the base =)
Thanks.

yep. if you use a cooking pot as your "canteen" then you kindof get a bonus:

the cooking pot holds 2 ltr water (or some 2 PET bottles). but aside from water you can also stuff it with 4 items, since it has 4 empty slots inside. This way you have BOTH a very large canteen plus you can use those 4 slots for, say a handgun or 4 cans of food. so in a way it's like having an invisible canteen in yer pocket

And the Jerrycan with its 20 ltr can refill that pot 10 times

Nice =)

the jerrycan also fit into a hunting backpack (takes up all slots).

i use it myself, hide it in a tree near my camp
-you need to put it in a backpack, the jerrycan itself is NOT persistent once touched

Can you fill the jerrycan to the brim and then use the 'Drink All' command on it? Please try it out for me and see what happens.

If you "Drink all" from a cooking pot it actually doesn't drink more than 50?% or so.

Yep. 2.5 Canteen.
A Canteen filled up 40% of the Cooking Pot.
This means we need 2.5 Canteen.

2 Canteen = 4 Slots.
1 Cooking Pot = 4 Slots.
BUT!!

Cooking Pot HAS 4 Slots inside.
This means, using Cooking Pot > 2 Canteen.
We will handle MORE water and we will have our 4 Slots to store stuffs. (Food)
This means, with 4 Slots we can have 2.5 Canteen and 2 Rices.

Will definitely be grabbing a cooking pot next time then. Can you fill it with rain water as well, and does it fill as fast as a canteen?

Probably no. The Canteen take around 12 ~ 17 moves to fill up to max.
Around 3% ~ 6%.

The Cooking Pot will take around times 2.5 to fill up, using logic, of course,
this is DayZ, maybe we can do at the same amount each try.
