The kitchen knife seems to kill chickens fastest. But that might be a small sample data set.
they all do the same damage (except stone knife).
there is a difference in durability: stone knife wears off fastest, then steak knife, kitchen knife etc.
You have to put the can on the floor and use the knife in your hands on it.
Every knife I have ever used has killed chickens with a single hit.
Hey, it popped up in my feed. I didn't look at the date. Besides, a thread like this, the date doesn't matter. Everything said is still valid. And if it helps someone later down the road, all's well.
Edit: Currently, from a game-file standpoint, there are differences in the Durability of different knives, but not in functionality. All knives will do the same jobs, but some will wear out faster. This also applies to Bayonets, which are their own Class, even though some look like a Knife.
Combat and hunting knife are the strongest knives (HP damage: light attack 22; heavy attack 38), the crafted ones the weakest (HP damage: light attack 10; heavy attack 15) when it comes to damage dealt.
