So, if i find a good spot to drop my loot, do they stay there untill some oen finds them, or do they get resetted if they are not in container?

I have yet to able to get me a lock, i would wana stash my tools how ever.

And how do i locate my locked stash after? Do i just need to know the map where it is?
Or does it show me some kind of arrow, "your stash in here", kinda like in The Forest you can see your home bases for distance.


I have found a dial up lock i could try to open up and take, is there some kind of trick to open it, or just keep trying differ numbers?

All your Gear is on a timer some things longer than others.
You need to know where your stash is.
Just try numbers 1111 is default

if your items aren't in containers, it will vanish during server restart. you need a container and a shovel to bury it, it will last until 30 days if no one dig it back. Please take note that on public servers, some people are using hacks to spot players and stashes, you should really consider to choose a private server for your dayZ experience: as an example, if you like vanilla there are some good servers around, like podpivas or spaggies ones!

But, at the end, don't get too much attach to your loot

Thanks, good thing i didint stash anything yet, but my bag is kinda full and i wana clear it for more.

Found me 3 dial up lock, trying to scroll it thru, it just not opening up?

It was on table, pristine condition, can i just slap it on a lock, or do i need to scroll it first?

Tents and Barrels are on 45 day timers, buried stashes last 14 days.

set the lock to whatever you like than apply it to a gate. When you need to open it later it will be the code you picked

Yea ok, this the thing i was wondering about^^

Should i try to find like extra bag to store the loot and just stash into container and lock it?

I could be playing like once a week, so i wont loose my loot.

Next question:

How could i build simple small base? I need wood, hammer and nails and a lock ?

Found me simple container just slap a lock into, for now, till i gather more materials to build a base.

You can't lock anything except gates that you make( official). Certain bags "Drybags" Pots, protector cases you can bury or handmade crates. Anything you bury has a 14 day timer so you have to return and dig it up before the timer is done.

Right, i think my best option is to find a shovel and dig simple hole to stash my tools.

Gonna take me some time to figure out these locks n crafting.

I know i die in a day or two if i dont stash anything soon, i think so far best loot on me now ive had so far, gonna be pointless to loot em again, and again.

Does the loot need to be in a bag when i have my hole?
Or just drop em all in the hole one by one?

Needs Dry Bag or boar bag, items can't be buried without a container.
