Why can't Bohemia fix their game instead?
However, long gone Randy was right. This is not a free game. We are end-users and not hackers, programmers or IT consultants.
I urge Bohemia Interactive to address this as it's been over a year since the first reported incident, and I just got it an hour ago.
Also, You can NOT use a VPN with DayZ / BattleEye, and if you have a WiFI connection, this can cause problems too ..
This issue is what made me stop playing DayZ. I do not want to have to learn how to utilize different network parameters or what tf a DNS is or what a VPN is. I play casually on a laptop when i have time. That time that i do want to spend, is not the kind of time I want to waste figuring out network issues. Experienced the same thing with SCUM as well.
Just want to start a game, join a server and play. I def do not want to scour youtube for internet programing tutorials. If I spend time learning something new, Id definetly rather it be the learning of how to utilize new mods and maps.
Im sure someone will just say, "well just play consoles then." I dont feel like thats how it should be. We should just be able to connect and play.
The rest of us, DO just connect, and Play .. YOUR lack of understanding what a VPN is, or does, is not the fault of the Game. If you use a VPN, YOU are the one taking extra-steps, and causing your own problem. Same with if you are too lazy to plug an Ethernet cable in to your laptop, rather than try to use WiFi .. YOU are the one choosing a lesser quality connection, not the game.
There are a whole plethora of games that I just start up, join a server and play. Its not about being lazy to plug in directly. Which is the way it should be. Where I play removes the ability to plug into the modem, without going into too much detail, small house, not wealthy, play in my free time. Sorry if I offended you. And yes I have a huge misunderstanding of what a VPN is. Even when I disconnect from it (another person helped me get it to work from the community a few months ago) as it is now, I cannot connect to any server. Somehow it got reset.
I am truly sorry that technology truly is all gobbledygook to me, as opposed to the masses who understand it perfectly. I do not. And you are correct, its nobody elses fault but my own that I do not grasp the technological understanding required to casually play a game online by just installing it and joining a server. I just wish it was easier. thats all. I do not understand these things man, TMI kinda messed my short term memory up in an accident. By the time I get through a set of steps to correct the issue by reading them, my memory of what I just read is no longer there. You are correct, it is a me issue, not the games. I use WIFI for no other reason than I have to. yeh it sucks. Believe me, i dont want to use a vpn, I dont understand what it even is after reading about them. It makes sense though, if I turn it off my crappy potato laptop just turns it back on as it has to I guess. Sorry if I came across as lazy or unwilling to correct the issue. Im not and spent quite a long time trying to correct it. Just hard for me to understand. Dam, sorry for repeating myself so much
especially regarding the fact that there'e nothing much you can do about it.
gl with your memory, though.
