can you put a combination lock ontop of a combination lock?
Would be a fun way to troll someone with a base lol.
But i suspect it's 1x lock per gate.

No, but you can build a reverse gate in front of the other to lock the base dwellers inside.

Now if they want to get out, they have to shoot down the gate, wasting ammo and possibly luring players directly to their base. Either that or slowly smashing the gate with tools, but that takes long, so they risk getting door camped in any case.

Much easier to dismantle an adjacent wall, and even easier to just add a wire silently with pliers, and make a new gate .. no need to destroy the "doubled" gate.

You can’t put two combos locks on

If you park a car in front of a base someone can just shoot the engine block and it will disappear in a few mins

If you wanna troll in vanilla you can build watch towers all around their base or multiple tents but even those can be destroyed but it takes longer especially if you put 20 of them

I guess, but I meant bases that only have gates blocking a doorway to a building. 9 out of 10 bases on vanilla don't have adjacent walls next to the front gate.

Perimeter walls are kinda pointless in general since they are so easy to get over, and once someone gets inside, they can chance as many fences into their private VIP entrances as they like.

Really makes you wonder sometimes, why this is not done before a post like this is even made. (No disrespect to the Op intended)

did exactly that many years ago on a modded server. Its quite easy - you just build x gates in the same spot. Its not blocking passage or anything. Seen one dude who secured his car with that trick. He didn't mixed codes because of how hard it is to actually get the right padlock for individual set of numbers and so by guessing one i've guessed all of them.

Ah shame it doesn't work. (it shouldn't work, but would've been fun)

I didn't try it out, as currently I don't have a gaming PC - plus, the server i play on is heavily looted, so most items are very hard to find... i've only found about 3 combo locks in 300+ hours. So chances of finding one and then a base without dying were slim.

Shame the truck idea doesn't work either that'd be hilarious. Thanks for the info on why that wouldn't work @Skeeter.

Yeah, most of the time the 'bases' I see are pre-existing buildings with a gate added on the front door. Maybe a 2nd gate up a flight of stairs e.t.c
I never see bases built ground up on this server.
