One of these days, if I'm caught up on all my studies, I'll record some DayZ footage and edit together a guide of sorts, so you don't have to just take my word for it.
Pretty much on the money. People think 9x39mm is rare because they simply ignore it until they find the VSS. If they actually kept an eye out and picked up the ammo, you'd be stocked up. But as you say, once you find a VSS - you'll likely have found a better PvP gun by then.
With that in mind, DayZ is a game when you can horde guns. You can literally run around with 4 or 5 weapons, as if you're Superman on steroids. You can throw the logic of "this or that" gun out the window. If it's a gun and you can fit it in your bag, it will come in handy.
Traveling light is only beneficial if you anticipate being caught off guard. Otherwise any player worth their salt will drop their backpack in a nearby bush before engaging in PvP.
agreed, one of the most underrated guns in the game.
