- Once reset, I have no issues with "janky" movement or stutters.
Aside from the glitches where you need to log in and out, and I've run into a few since the update, try tweaking your graphics settings a little. Some changes have been made. I haven't noticed what you've described with the head turning, but it might be subtle. I'll watch for it.
The zombies need reworked and have for a long time. A friend of mine and I were beating one just yesterday and both of us watched it vanish. Then it came running down the steps of the PD. We've also been having problems with the official launcher and cleared that up by not using it. (Here we go again with that one.)
It feels like the community has done more work on this game than the devs because they have. If it weren't for the PC modding community, DayZ would have been DeadZ a long time ago.
The weather changes outright suck in my opinion. They're having adverse effects on maps other than Namalsk v2.0...er Sikhal. So's the inventory change. Although I don't mind that one overall, it's making collecting the necessary items to go through the Passage in Deadfall a general pain in the backside. Just tedious, not fun or immersive. Tedious.
I play the game and want to see it improve. But I have to take occasional breaks from it when the glitches get too irritating. It's beyond me why DayZ and BI draw so much praise beyond what they did do well. It would be nice if BI would fix what needs fixed. But after all this time, I'm not holding my breath. It's a frellin' shame.
Play the game for 15 mins, you'll see them. They're all pretty noticeable. Although with 3000 hours maybe I just feel it more intensely.
Thank you, I will try this and pray it works. Hate to see this game treated so badly by people who are supposed to care for it.
This! I've only just noticed myself that video settings had been altered with the new patch. The settings had dropped from highest possible to lows in some cases.
And personally - yes I wanted a new map with new and different dynamics compared to Chernarus/Livonia.
I am sure there will be a list of things players wanted some of which are mentioned above or in other topics on the front page here. None of those ideas seem unreasonable to me, some of them may not be feasible with the current engine possibly, but there again I've not had any of the issues listed by the OP, or other posters either.
1000's of games on Steam, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo. They work perfectly fine. Why does dayz get a pass on horrendous mechanics that barely work? Just because I don't know how to code a game does not excuse the seeming lack of effort from the people who've studied this line of work and profit from it.
I wish I could post video evidence of what I am experiencing lol. Very possible that my problems are being caused by unwanted changes of settings, although I did play around with them yesterday to see if I could find something and nothing seemed to help. I will give an update to this thread at the end of the day, so I can test more servers and see if my problems are localized on certain maps/servers or if it really is because of this ridiculous head movement change.
Not to mention the ol' "games are hard to make" argument is rarely feasible for a game that's in early access. When money changes hands, some folks expect results.
I'd say if a dev doesn't have their entire game fairly well polished after more than a decade and know it inside and out, maybe they ought to be doing something else.
Meanwhile the playerbase (also known as 'the community') plays on. Strange behaviour for a game 'that barely work' (sic).
EDIT - seen your most recent post, good luck with your search, I've got nothing similar occurring so can't offer any solutions other than video settings. Sorry. I've removed some stuff, it's not helpful to argue the toss when you're looking for solutions after all.
