Like you , my discord works fine, i can hear people but they can't hear me
She’s a picky one!
Same here. Usually 9 of 10 issues with mics in DayZ are posted by people which use USB headphones.
(Its rare to read about problems with dedicated USB mics.)
Could also be the actual headset brand, model, driver or lack of. I was using a razor 3.5 mm and switched over to a cheaper Amazon USB brand.
I will try that next time
steam now allows you to select your mic but some games by default just grab the wrong source. if it isn't that, try opening sound settings in windows while dayz is running and it should show you what input/output the game is using.
I had an incident where I updated my GFX driver and it always does a RealTek HD Audio driver update with it. Well this one specific update somehow managed to screw up my mic input….but what’s really odd is my mic is hitting an external audio interface, so not even using the RealTek built-in drivers…..🤔
But whatever happened messed my voice up bad, across any game, discord etc. I had to reinstall my drivers for my interface to fix it.
