How do I purify pot water?
What is it safe for consumption? should it say hot or boiled?

There are tablets you can find to "clean" the water
so you can fill your containers from creeks and use water
you find in part full containers.
You used to be able to boil it but i think they changed
at some point, I could be wrong though.
If your on Sakhal there is a "filter bottle you can get to
melt snow into safe to drink water.
If you stick to wells and springs you should be right.

either boil it ( not 100 percent sure about it lol )
or get it from wells
or use chlorine tablets.

I don't know if there are diffrent between Chernarus and Sakhal, but in Sakhal HOT are the new BOILED.
Problem in Sakhal is that it is an volcano island, and heavy metal poisoning is an issue.
Chelate tablets purify poisening, either in bottle or pot. Or you can eat them, if you drank contaminated water.

In Sakhal you can only get fresh water from wells outside most towns and villages.
Taking water from warm springs, or snow from the ground, will get you poisoning.

Tip regarding Sakhal by the way: drink half a pot or one canteen of snow water, and once you're done digesting it pop a vitamin. You'll get the poisoning and minor symptoms, but with the high immunity it disappears so quickly that you still gain lots of hydration.

Boiling water doesn't do anything. You need the pills.

Boiling clears out all pathogens except heavy metals.

Yes you can boil on Chernarus and Livonia, and don't have to worry about heavy metal poisoning
