Officials are like that because its their quality, poor that is. They only exist as testing ground.
More like an overstatement... possibly. I play officials all the time, no issues with ping, lag or desynch that I notice. What ping are these servers indicating in the launcher?
I play on official and barely deal with lag. Must be the servers you are choosing. If you have no problems with Community servers, stay playing on those.
Lol.
Where are the numbers? I'd like to see that data. Don't want it being a guessing game with random numbers thrown around.
You also can check out different Official servers. There might be some that are less awful than others.
battlemetrics, for example:

You can also do it manually if you don't have life to attend to...
Day after day people are coming here with same type of problem. They can't play on official. They're not making it up and the reason is all the same. You can look up official servers specs, see where problems are starting. Then add potential DDOSes and youll have it.
I'm enjoying my weekend before going back to work.
I don't care much for the numbers, was just curious if they were accurate or not, since people love mentioning things but not showing the info to back it up.
Obviously, if you have an option of 3 maps/same stuff vs a whole bunch of different maps, animations, events etc most people would pick the second option, especially if they played the same 3 (more like 2, since 3rd is newish) maps over and over, endlessly already.
Also, if people have issues with the main official servers, this will also attribute to people moving to Community Servers and playing on vanilla maps or PVE focused servers.
If the official servers offered more options and worked without much issue for everyone, there'd be more people on them as well.
Because cheaters are running scripts all over the place. If you play Official, you deserve everything you get.
Officials usually have laggy zombies who teleport and I get annoying micro cuts.
I don't get all the hate against official. I like to think it's just RPers who like to have more outfits and whatnot.
Like, if a cheater is scripting, it's GG in any game, even in old rust recoil where it was hella easy (being more accurate for the first 5 of the AK and less accurate from 5-10 was a huge giveaway), because most admins are too trash at the games they admin to spot these things, even if you're a legend it's hard to know for sure.
Anyway, I have not seen a blatant cheater in Official in 200 hours.
I like to think it's just RPers who hate things like the third person view, the lack of pokemon cards, and the lack of fancy outfits.
Let's make a little test...

Called it... no shaming intended, it's just that it's pretty much what I had in mind.
I would not call it hate, that's a strong word, but my crew and I have had some really bad experiences in the past. Community Vanilla servers are plenty, and many times you can play on them for weeks and not run into another player more than once or twice every few days. We prefer playing empty/low pop servers anyway.
I see you took a deep dive into my s/shots, that's a very old pic, and they guy in front is always picking up silly stuff for fun.
You bought a game with bad service, that is the main issue.
once you realize it , it all makes senes.
There are no admins or attempts at fighting the cheats... Dayz official servers are known to be cheater's heaven, they can do what they want without fear.
The solution is Community servers, you just have to find the one that you like.
lots of no mods servers as well that can make you feel like official, only without being #@$ in the A$$ by bad service , bugs, cheats, lags due to cheap servers... and so on.
Keep in my , servers were better last year, before they changed hosting servers... and it wasnt good, it was actually less worse rather than "better".
So you have to count on the community not the game developers.
Official servers in Dayz are know to be cheater's heaven. there are 0 attempts at fighting it.
no admins, no reports... and the fact the client tells the server where the shot hit, thats just crazy code imo.
Yes cheaters are everyone, but the complaint isnt about the existence of cheaters in the world, its about the none action and 0 accounability in Dayz that makes them multiple and call friends to come over ....
In a good community server I know someone is actively watching over, and reports and being dealth with fast, so the chance of you losing time and effort due to cheaters is very low and even if you do, you can get compnesated by admins in some cases at some extent.
while in official you can lose a base you've built for weeks in 20 minutes and there is nothing you can do to stop it .
just because you dont with the server you play on doesnt mean ♥♥♥♥.
I rarely play on official anymore, I've had over 1500hours in them, and its 1400 more than i s hould have had to be honest.
Once I went community, I never looked back.
Right wno i'm jsut fcking around with a char in some official, no long term investments.. nothing serious, if I want good dayz exprience I will have to turn to one of the community servers i play on,
