Struggling to see why this game is peak concurrent player count.

Its simply more broken than its ever been? Every time and my mates try this game we all have the same problems. Is it just a hackers paradise now and they make up 99% of players? Why do sane people play this?

Hell I even beat PUBG solo with just a crossbow back when it was just released. Theres no reason for DayZ to be as broken as it is now.

When Day Z first came out Steam had around half the player base it does currently, keep in mind that the rapid pace that the world is growing and how 10+ years is a long time comparatively speaking.

For the uneducated 13 year old. Both games were released the same year. One required skill to win. The other, well you cant win unless you hack or uninstall.

It's because they didnt open new servers for the new map, they just replaced some of the ones for the other maps- cramming everyone into the same 5 or so servers in their region

77,000 players is 77,000 players, no matter how many servers are active.

A more accurate statement would be new or low skilled players 99% of the time think a hacker has killed them when in reality it's someone who's just better than them or has seen them first.

There actually are a lot of cheaters, but it's mostly on Official servers. Most community servers don't have them, the problem is there are those few that don't have active moderators, or that downright allow cheating because the owners/ admins accept payment to let cheaters use cheats on their servers. Whilst few and far between, it's still annoying looking for community servers that check all boxes for your preferences, whilst also having active moderators.
