Barrels can be found in industrial areas and storage sheds but are somewhat rare due to the law of supply and demand. LOL. :j
I spent last 20 hour on searching for single barrel without success. For me it's just stupid. Barrels seems to be one of most rare items in the game. I don't believe that they would start to respawn if I had more hours in this game. I may be noob in this game, but I searched every garage, warehouse, shed etc. on 2/3 of map and did not find single barrel.
not true at all. I have been building up my barrel collection oven teh last week. I have 10 barrels now. Every no and then u find one in the woods. But i find one in towns every hour or so.
I've found that the harder I look for something in DayZ the less likely that I will find it...
I consistently play on the same server and for the most part stick to the NW quadrant, unless I get that "black screen of death" and am forced to make my way off the coast again. LOL.
Having said that, I've found 3 barrels over the last two weeks and was never really looking for them at the time I found them... so, they're out there, but as I said before; somewhat rare. Just keep looking, don't pass up any shed no matter how trivial looking it may be. Good Luck. :j
For the Big Military Tents, I haven't seen one since June.
Probably because the last time I played was in June.
Private server would explain it because people are more likely to make large bases, in my experience.
