Where are the handsaws and cars in this update?

not sure if it is due to the updates but i have literally not seen a handsaws and only 1 car across for dayz since the update. Anyone experience this?

i find quite alot of handsaw and hacksaws actually
Cars just depend on if they are taken or not. Found a truck just recently on a official server and a car closeby spawnpoint (working mind you)

I spent hours in the area north of the NWAF. maybe that is due to the cars and saws not common in those area? guess I will look for them elsewhere. Thanks for the reply!

use izurvive , you can see all the potential car spawns , the one out of the way tend to have cars that haven't been fixed

When it rains it pours in DayZ
never had trouble finding the items you are looking for.
but I went nearly 300 hours in game without ever seeing a shovel or pickaxe,
while in areas they actually spawn, then like magic,
found more of them than I could (or wanted too) carry!

Since then, I had a fresh spawn and found 4 pistol silencers within the first hour..
And these are among the rarest items in the game
the real ones that is, metal and interchangeable with pistol/sub machine guns .45 and 9.19
Couldn't find gun cleaning kits to save my arse with that char though, drought! lol

Yeah , the CLE can be very unforgiving sometimes, usually a item only starts to respawn on mass when the value for x is lower and then it wiil fill the spawns , or at leas thats what i see . Check towns that are not often looted and you will be suprised.

The larger Industrials like the Docks areas in Cherno, and there are two large industrials in the North towns will give you a beter chance of these items

I can find shovels. for pickaxe even I having seen one for quite some time. why did you need a pickaxe tho lol

one side note, sledge hammer appears to be stronger than fireaxe. killing a zombie takes 2-3 hits with the hammer while the axe needs 4-5 hits. just find this interesting

If not aware of you, barbed wire baseball bat can take any zombie down with one hit..
And the occasional sound they make on impact is priceless!

No idea why that sound don't happen more often with a head shot,
but sounds devastatingly brutal when it does! lol

If not aware of you, barbed wire baseball bat can take any zombie down with one hit..
And the occasional sound they make on impact is priceless!

firefighter axe, sledgehammer, barbed baseballbat, pickaxe and similar melee weapons... they ALL can one tap an infected with a power hit. a "normal" hit wont do it with any melee.
so i would just take what has less weight. the pitchfork is quite fun to use, but u gotta time your hits very well to the head and they go down with one power stab too. also makes a very satisfying sound
