Randomly lost my character (AGAIN)

I loggod off a public server for 1 minute, and when I tried to log back, I had to wait 35 secs with the following message: ˝Timer prolonged due to waiting for the end of previous session˝

In the past I met this, no problem. But now a freshspawn waited me instead of my looted character after days of playing! I tried logging off and back, but nothing, even on the main screen it writes: 0 mins gameplay. I'm 100% sure, I join the same server, I didnt die, and the server wasnt about restarting.

I searched and read about this, but in 8 years old articles. Really it didnt change since then?
Also this is the second time this happens to me in a week.

Is there a way to get it back?

u died during logout. theres no other explanation.

Thanks for the reply! But I didnt. I was healthy, been hiding and waited till the log off, no one killed me.

dunno then... i never had this happen in thousands of hours in the game.
maybe try avoid official servers. they're not the best performance wise as they all run on a single hive. community servers all have their own hive and offer a bigger range of gameplay possibilities anyway - from vanilla to heavy modded and roleplay servers on various different maps.

I have never had this either. Dying would have been my guess too.

I do not think this is a common issue or even a bug. (since I never hear about it) so I am ata lost here. Maybe try a google search.

The only time that happens is if you combat log. You may have had a broken leg and fell uncon as you were in the 15 seconds logout. You may have been in a firefight and lagging when you combat logged.

Thank you again, but still no, I was healthy, in a closed house with no one around.

The only clue is, when I relogged I got 35 secs wait with the message: ˝Timer prolonged due to waiting for the end of previous session˝ instead of the 15 secs to load my character.

That clip is from years ago. Did you accidently hit leave now whilst being hit by infected. Were you lagging. Unless you were in a very close off space like a electrical utility box I imagine someone headshot you as you logged out and you just didn't notice it.

No I waited the 15 secs sitting until log off, the house was closed, even from the windows I couldnt be seen.
It might have been a server bug. It was the second time this thing happened to me.

I've had this happen today, I've logged in through DayZ client - from the icon, saw my character in his gear all brilliant, I've clicked on Spawn, and then a new character loaded, all panicked, I've quit, and now I can see a fresh character. So I thought, ohh, might need to play through steam, so I did, and then I saw this lovely little icon telling me that my Cloud storage is out of sync and then it almost immediately synced, and yeah... my character gone for good... F in the chat lol

I normally been logging in through steam, but this time I've realised that I can do that through the icon, so thinking I'll save myself some time, I've wiped my character, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ brilliant, just went I've started enjoying this game.

Only time I've had this sort of thing happen (though not recently, mind you) was when connecting to a server that had briefly lost connection to the hive. In those cases, I was usually able to save the character by immediately leaving that server and switching to another on the same hive. However, there have been a couple of times where I was too slow leaving, and the server's connection to the hive was restored, overwriting my old character with the fresh one. Nothing that can really be done in that case.

There seems to be a lot of small patches been pushed and i've noticed more network issues with regards to in game and finding servers.

Perhaps there some teething problems with 1.19
