Ammo Condition, does it affect anything?
Sorry if this a repeat question, but I can't find an answer on the wiki, and some of the threads discussing this topic previously were upwards of 8 years old.

Does the condition of ammunition affect anything, including accuracy, damage, jamming probability, or degrade the gun faster?

Thanks!

Absolutely nothing. The condition only determines how close the ammo is to being ruined.

Thanks. That'll change things a bit for me. I was avoiding badly damaged ammo, thinking they'd have less damage, be less accurate, or degrade my gun faster.

Ammo does not degrade but if you take damage the items in your pockets can take damage too and become ruined.

Also I’m pretty sure stacking damaged or badly damaged ammo with other better ammo will increase the quality of the entire stack. I think this works with just about everything that is stackable.

Yeah, the stack will inherit the average condition of all of its individual parts. So you can't fix things to full health like that but it might save very badly damaged items from getting ruined in combat.

The caveat of this, is that it only averages the Stack, it does not change individual round condition .. you can test this by building a stack with different conditions, use that stack to load a magazine, and then empty the magazine .. the Rounds will not "re-stack" .. you will get separated stacks of different condition ammo, because each round keeps it's own condition, even tho the stack might "average".

Another neat trick though, is if you load a badly damaged magazine with badly damaged AMMO, and then use a weapons cleaning kit on that magazine, it WILL also raise the condition of the ammo inside.

Yo, about a year worth of playing, just crested 1,000 hours and I didn’t know either of these things. Thanks!

and isn't it true that the worse ammo you have, the weapon degrades faster and starts jamming later?

I know that the damaged weapon and damaged magazines cause jamming but have never experienced a jam while using damaged ammo
