Livonia DLC will be free for everyone

The 1.25 experimental just released for public testing, and once it hits the stable version, Livonia ceases to exist as a paid DLC, because it will be merged with the base game.

I'd buy another new map at this point, even if I hardly played on it because I spend all my time on Livonia. I'd do that especially if it kept the devs in their job of working on DayZ. They have worked hard and they deserve it.

Join the club. Seems like Bohemia wants to punish those of us who supported them the most, and bought their DLC to fund future development .. and reward those who didn't.

I'm hoping that they give a big discount on the next DLC to those who paid for Livonia, but I doubt they will, and I won't be buying anymore DLC if they don't.

You bought Livonia, which gave BI money to develop the game further. So you received a new map and continued support, and probably enjoyed them for years. I don't see how this is a problem. You'd be understandably pissed if you only recently bought Livonia, but you could just refund it.

I'm not "pissed", I just have an opinion that it's kinda messed up that "OG" DayZ players from the early days of the SA Mod and Beta DayZSA who never supported the CURRENT versions of DayZ are being "rewarded" for NOT supporting the current development by purchasing Livonia, while those of us who HAVE supported Bohemia in their CURRENT development, and willingly purchased the DLC, seem to be getting the shortest end of the stick.

From Bohemia:
-If you didn't buy it, you will get it free in an merged version update.
-Future sales will include Livonia, at a price lower than the current "bundle" pricing.

Edit: And for what its worth, I did not comment in YOUR thread .. a Moderator merged my comments from another thread in to this one .. Nothing I said was directed at this already on-going discussion.

For me the free Livonia is ok, i played a "few" hours on the map in the last years and for me the map is still better than Chernarus.
A new dlc map will be also welcome, even if it would be only to support the ongoing work on DayZ.

Even if I had paid $100 for the Livonia DLC years ago, it still would have been a bargain after thousands of hours spent on the map.

I bet it's because nobody plays Livonia. They probably figured it would be better to at least have people playing it rather than continue to charge people for a dead DLC.

With all my alts I think I have like, $100 of free DLC. Sweet.

I will pay $30 of DLC but for new Houses and furniture. NOT for a WINTER MAP

I wont buy another map, Livonia wasnt for many year at the same quiality and still is lacking players, I rather buy a dlc for new houses and furniture, is tired of lotting the same 5 houses on very town and map, im sure this "new map" is only the landscape and the building will be the same, DAYZ is about inmersion too , who can i be inmersed with the same bed and tables on every house. come on guys! is ridiculous they haven't add a basic building that every player passes by.

I mean, looks wise Livona is of higher quality than Chernarus. But I do agree. I hope we will see some new buildings with new furniture etc.. Immersion is important to a game like DayZ

You do realize OP is saying paying for revamps of house interiors, right?

As someone who's played DayZ since 2014, I both do and don't like the repeat interiors. I like it because I know what to expect in a building and where the loot will be, but it can also get quite tiring seeing the exact same copy/paste building multiple times in every city (same old log cabin house in every small town)
