$30 seems a bit steep. I’m sure I’ll get my moneys worth out of it no matter the price, but still….I’d say $10-15 for a map would be fair.
edit. Oh sorry, my bad. I meant to type "deaf".
Bitterroot and PNW are also great
Why are you telling us this
Also, why are you responding to someone's comment that you think shouldn't be here? Shouldn't you be ignoring it because you view it as unimportant/unnecessary to be posted in this forum?
there is no need to get so upset, you misunderstood what i said thats all
you can say anything you wish, i simply asked why you wanted us to know so much about you and your opinion
do you always go around telling everyone your opinion despite not having been asked
Proper outrage & voicing with wallets back then would've meant this DLC being Livonia coming out to a feature complete Dayz instead.
Don't pre-order. Don't buy DLC for unfinished games.
From that, you can tell just what I think about a $30 DLC. Every other game that has a map-oriented DLC for $20+ has additional content to come along with it and some good examples are from ARK and Arma 3
- Arma 3 Apex ($25) has a 100km map, 1-4 player campaign, 1 new NPC faction, 13 new weapons, 10 new vehicles, and a large assortment of new clothing
- ARK: Scorched Earth ($20) has a desert-themed map w/ desert-based events & mechanics, 12 new dinosaurs, 60 new items, and 1 new boss
Additionally, you can go and look at the store page for Frostline and see the SAME EXACT BUILDING ASSETS as there are on Chernarus. The entire small town featured in the 4th screenshot has the same exact buildings, fences, greenhouses, and old blue dumpsters we get to see all the time in Chernarus. I don't study & memorize every tree I see, but I have a hunch that a lot of the tree assets are going to be the same as well since some of the trees give me a hint of familiarity with them. Also, whether this is intended to be a joke "easter egg" or not, there's a floating bunny in the 8th screenshot on the store page
Tell me, if I'm going to pay $30 for a DLC, then why is the majority of it composed of old map assets? Shouldn't the $30 be justified via a new map with completely new building/tree/misc assets instead of $30 for a new map with recycled assets that have existed for a decade? How am I supposed to be immersed in the environment if I'm standing inside of the exact same building that's been in Chernarus, Livonia, and Frostline?
Basically, the only thing this map has going for it over a community-made map is that it was made by a larger team
I’m all for exploring and I’m not even close to knowing the map well at all…..but the damn building assets just wear me down after a while. It just makes every town feel way too similar and my immersion gets broken and I get bored.
Namalsk is a bit easier for me to be sucked in since things are spread out. But even the apartment buildings in Vorkuta for example….I’ll get lost in the city every single time just because every apartment building looks exactly the same.
I’d gladly fork over $ for more assets and textures over a map.
