This opinion is wrong because it clashes with reality in many disturbing ways. You are not assuming that console players have no servers to play on to day, are you?
I, for one, welcome our consolian brothers/sisters/others
Reforger dOes it and whilst some do grizzle about "kids" the majority seem to be fine with it.
That’s a great idea about having the opt out choice for server owners I wish cross play would happen
For now the new DLC should bring fresh blood and maybe bring old veterans back for new content
And what is "disturbing" about simple Math?
2 Console servers + 2 PC servers = 4 total servers
1 Console server + 1 PC server + 1 crossplay server = 3 total servers
-- In all of Time, 3 has always been LESS THAN 4 ... Or is Math now an "opinion"?
Your calculations are correct, but your opinion on the amounts is not. See, if we take your '2 console servers + 2 PC servers' and transform them into '2 crossplay servers + 2 crossplay servers,' the total equals 4 servers. Console and PC players now have 4 servers to choose from instead of 2. As you so clearly pointed out already, in this context, a higher number has allways been larger than a lower number.
Corporate Profits x Reality of the Situation + (Add crossplay/consolidate Servers = fewr server expenses) = Higher Profit Margin*.
P x R + (c/cE) = Pm
*These are NOT opinions.
..I gotta say... Actually, the only fact in your comment is that you have expressed opinions, which are likely incorrect as well. In all likelihood, WASD 1337s and control diehards will clash on more servers and in greater numbers than ever before, hoping to prove that their respective platforms are superior. Naturally, control enthusiasts who have not already done so will realize that WASD is superior. Consequently, how-to-install-Linux websites will probably become flooded. (Did you notice how I first corrected you and then subtly included my own opinions?)
Would love the ability to play with friends who don't have a PC for DayZ 2 :)
