only eat/drink small amounts and only continue once the arrows for food and water go down again. rinse and repeat and the sickness will go away on its own once u reached a solid immunity level (your stats for water, energy, blood and health) without any medication.

You have a fever, from the Flu or Infection.
If you have Vitamins, take one of those, and take 2 bites of food, and 3 seconds of drink .. As was said, wait for arrows to start going down again and repeat, 2 bites and 3 sips of water .. when pill symbol goes away, take another vitamin.

It would also help you to make a fire and get a heat buff. 3 sticks and 2 bark will make a fire starter and a fire big enough to get the buff.

Don't worry, the illness mechanics in this game don't always work properly and never will

I had caught cholera due to not knowing that looted water bottles can give it to you, so I spent 4 in-game days straight sitting by a water pump keeping my hydration up, eating my surplus food to keep my hunger up, and having a constant stream of tetracycline/multivitamins that I had stockpiled up as well as always being at white temperature and still didn't beat it

After 4 days of waiting and running out of food, I gave up and respawned to get rid of the disease and, to nobody's surprise, when I got back and got my gear back, I caught it again a few minutes after putting my clothes back on. Keep in mind that I didn't eat/drink anything from my past life since I was 100% reliant on the well and had no food remaining to eat, so I ended up catching a bacterial infection caused by consuming unclean water by putting on my old clothes. I'm also 100% confident that it wasn't influenza because of the symptoms as well as having 3 friends who were all hanging around in very close proximity that never caught the sickness across 4 in-game days

Nothing beats an authentic survival experience like wasting over an hour of your life sitting in one place doing everything possible to cure a disease only to run out despite having a huge surplus of supplies and give up and kill yourself, only to catch a bacterial disease again without eating/drinking anything

Vomiting after eating means it's either salmonella or cholera, but since only the latter causes fever it means it's cholera.

Take 8 vitamins or 5 tetracycline pills or 3 of each. Don't even try to start treating it if you don't have enough pills, because if you're off the meds for a second, the disease will start to get worse again and negate your progress in few minutes.
Take one tetra/vitamin or both, wait until the pill icon disappears and immediately pop a new one.

Don't eat or drink when you're treating it with pills because you'll infect your food and water, make the recovery slower, and risk getting sick from them again later.

If you don't have the meds, eat and drink in small bites. Don't vomit. Get your stats so full that when you eat, the arrows on the apple icon start flipping up and down. It means the stat is at 100%. Keep them this full for about an hour.

Unless your temperature is blue, don't sit by a fire for too long. You'll just start sweating and lose your precious hydration.

I've had this happen before. Ive been playing since 2014 so I know how to get rid of disease and all the little tricks to make it go faster. Sometimes I do get a disease that I just can't seem to cure but I assumed it was the zombie virus since I've only ever gotten it from being hit by them.

In the 10 years I've had this game it's honestly only gotten worse with the updates, this is probably the buggiest survival game out there besides maybe ark.

You haven't learned much about the game in 10 years if you think it has a "zombie virus".

sickness is easy to deal with. Just never stop eating.

food is more important than warmth. eat, eat, eat, eat.

it's all based on immune system level, the more you eat, the higher your immune system.

It took me a while to learn how to cure it. I like to sit by a fire while eating and drinking untill I've got plus signs everywhere possible, but the trick is prepping for it before it happens.

No need to be a loser. Think of it as an in universe theory for an unsolvable glitch more than anything else.
Please do tell us what was the trick to fix the glitched disease?
