Solo -- without Internet Requirement
Apartment Communities are quick to jump on the bulk-internet band wagon, which will certainly hurt your player count, being that you can't play online games on a 50 mbps connection. YOU COULD INCREASE YOUR SALES if you added solo play, with no internet requirement. AS AN ADDED BONUS, would be a partial address to the hacker problem, since they can't hack you playing SOLO.

I don't see how it would hurt anyone, honestly. Given everything in a server is configurable, there's no reason that it couldn't have an offline mode, just adds another option for more casual players.

You could also just make a local server, it's functionally the same thing.

The main point was the internet connection offered by Apartment Communities is $50 bucks a month, and you only get 50 mbps. From my experience, you can't even game with these numbers. Before bulk-internet became a dirty word, I was paying Spectrum $106 a month and could play most games online.

simply just "leaving" is not within many folks ability be it financial or others.

Lots of people in the world face restrictions which are out of their hands to change.

While DayZ has no "offline" mode, meaning "no internet", you CAN play a single player game, on your personal LAN server, with a very minimal internet connection that is ONLY used to verify your copy of DayZ is "legal" .. Your 50mbps connection is enough to post in the Steam forum, so it should be good enough to verify you own the game.
