1 bullet killing 2 players

Can’t find a definitive answer online about this.

I was chopping up a video yesterday and caught something that I didn’t notice in the moment: one shot killing 2 players.

Maybe it didn’t actually kill both of them, but they both dropped to the ground. And you can see in slow-mo it hits the one guy first then quickly the second guy. This happened within a few feet of my characters face lol.

I should also state that, the way they were standing and the trajectory of the shot, it wouldn’t have gone through one guy and into the other in a straight line. It would’ve pulled a “JFK magic bullet” and kinda turn trajectory into the next guy.

We were doing a little RP type scenario where myself and others were held hostage and a sniper was shooting at our captors. I won’t post the video due to some things going on that may not be appropriate. 🤭

Anything I found online suggests that this isn’t possible. Anyone have confirmation on this?

I have shot through 2 people before. It really depends. Sometimes the bullet will go through both other times it will go through only 1

It's all legit except the change in trajectory .. there is noting on a player, or their gear, that would cause a ricochet .. Bones, Plates, Gear will all slow the bullet, but not make it change direction other than falling faster.

Blue shirt guy falls forward as if he was shot in the back. I thought the shooter was in the direction that I look, but he must’ve been farther to my right and shot through blue shirt guy into the other guy.

I thought maybe I’m just a dummy and that was a shotgun blast….? But doesn’t sound like it to me. I don’t know my different gun sounds very well at all yet.

After watching the clip, you are looking toward the shooter, you can see the round come in at 0:26 secs in, it rebounds off blue shirt guy and hits Ghillie hood guy.

Yeah well, I concur it was a rifle, and a legit 2 kill with one shot.
Also, what your doing in the vid is "classic vanilla DayZ Hazing"
Nothing really offensive there, just human nature with a dash
of "crowd mentality". Pretty normal TBH.

I see that now. Hmm. I actually thought that was just a blade of grass or whatever debris flying in the air. The shot really sounded like it came from like 45 degrees to my right though. Maybe it’s time for a new headset.

I know about deflection but don’t think I’ve ever seen a straight up ricochet; like shooting a wall and having a round come back and hit me. Anything I found on the topic basically said that once the bullet hits its (human) target, that its path is terminated. But that may have been older intel.
