Keep joining the same server, altough i pick another one...

Hi all,

i am currently getting pretty frustrated with the game as i can't switch the server i am playing on. I keep getting re-directed to one specific server, it does not matter weather its through the launcher or ingame.

What i have figured out so far:
- Keeps happening for all "Namalsk" Servers with roughly the same mods
- Uninstalling all mods and trying to join a new server + download all the mods there does not help
- It is however possible for me to join a server with a completely different map

The problem is that i really enjoy namalsk (especially the spring version) and want to hop on a different server to play with friends.

Any ideas?

way to fix is to just always launch into the server from dzsa launcher. tutorial for download can be found on youtube it's very easy.

I have the same issue since last night. I think it was something with the namalsk map. Did you try any one the things on top?

Avoid any server containing "BGZ" of "Skyfall" mods. They are whats causing this issue.

Keeps loading BattleGroundZ servers no matter what server i click

i click on frozen divide for example and i get thrown into a namalsk battlegroundz server not evne the server i clicked on i uninstalled and redownloade over 4 times now and the problem persists i cant join any servers my friends are on, keeps saying unreachable when i dont download the BGZ mod... pissing me off

There are thousands of fake servers w/fake pop that direct back to a single real server.

People blindly join servers based on pop. I'm hoping the launcher will get updated to filter these but it's been a issue for a while now.

You can look up the server on BattleMetrics (which will show the real playercount), when I look up Frozen Divide I see hundreds of 0 pop servers all running the BGZ mod, that's a pretty good indication they are fake redirect servers.

Personally I use DZSA Launcher, while it doesn't specifically filter out all servers redirecting, it does filter out servers spoofing their player count, which makes up the vast vast majority of these servers. I'm sure there are still some, but I have never encountered these servers using DZSA, the high pop servers are mostly servers I recognise.

There is also a relatively new third party server browser called launch-z that supposedly filters fake servers, I have not tried it.

You can add some outgoing rules to the Windows Defender Firewall to block the connection to these servers and clean up the list in the official launcher, apparantly this list contains many of the current fake servers. (I have not tried it as I don't use the official launcher)

Can these servers not be reported or somehting, im trying to set up a new Livonia server and I can't join it, because it keeps taking be to this battlegrounds server

It looks like once you have a BGZ mod installed you'll be redirected to these servers, we all need to report these mods

Also Livonia Vanilla (SKYFALL) seems to be related to BGZ, hundreds of fake servers, same IP

If anyone remembers Peerblock from many years ago, you can use this to block these server IPs if you don't want to mess windows firewall, i've stopped work on my server and i'm now compiling a list of IPs for peerblock, then I can host the list and keep it up to date when the IPs change.
Maybe contact the datacentres for these too, let them know
I won't stop until this menace is gone for good.

Also just ripped one of these mods apart, seems to be carrying key logging scripts.


9170 fake servers redirecting to 6 ip addresses.
608 genuine community server.

The redirect servers seem to run mods that allow players to buy in game items from web based shops, as well as the above key logger, which means they're probably able to steal credit card data when people punch it in to buy items.

The Peerblock list i've created, copy this into a text file, rename it dayzfakes.p2p, load it into Peerblock

Any time you see a server with fake pop, open the file, add the IP and reload it into Peerblock
