izh 18 rifle any good?

title says it all, I keep seeing this gun everywhere which kinda makes me think does no one pick it up because its bad? just wondering as thinking of using it.

It's a decent gun, but you only get one shot at a time. It's a break open rifle but fires 7.62x39mm rounds, which are usually found only at military camps - where you get better rifles and ammo is more plentiful. I have seen the 7.62x39mm rounds spawn in police cars, but they seem to be pretty rare - though I dont search every police car I see.

- good damage but you have to reload after every shot
- ammo usually found in places with better guns

It's probably not picked up or used much simply because where you find lots of ammo for it, you will also find AKM, AK74, AK74U.

The gun fires, 1 round each time. This is mainly why people don't really use it, for pvp almost no one. The reloading is mainly the cause.

Besides people tend to pvp so want a gun who want to spray the enemy down. Its all about survival, and if you can get a gun with 30 shots instead of 1, 99% of the people take it.

It's a gun, better then nothing if you want to keep somone ( player or infected ) at more then arms length, it dosn't need a clip or mag, and ammo is easy to find.

I like to saw it off and keep it as a back up its a hard hitting round so its decent, also only holds 1 so no need to have loads mags just 10 or 20 loose sks rounds.

By the time you find 7.62x39 you'd have found an SKS or an AKM probably.

I consider all guns to be good. You could be a .22 headshot machine if you were good enough.

No. Its a one shot. It is a better than a .22 but without the ability to fire off several round you are at a disadvantage
