why is the anti stab vest literally useless?

so my m8 and i where chilling out and we got sorta bored and he had the anti stab vest on and i had a steak knife. i was curious to how much the anti stab vest would modify damage so i went first person and stabbed him once right in the gut while he had the anti stab vest and he took the damage and proceeded to bleed and the vest was trashed, so whats the point in it? or if you know devs could fix it

According to the last WOBO studies I watched, there is no difference in chest protection amongst the vests... be it the anti-stab, assault or plate carrier. Unless the devs have changed their in game ratings, they all currently provide the same exact protection. :j

Yes. On another note, how do you figure it was useless after that knife attack? It may have negated nearly all the damage. Weapons bleed chance I don't think is removed by armor. Any clothing that protects you takes damage itself. Hence the ruining of it. Weapons also deal instant damage, probably took less of that.

my buddy proceeded to shout while laughing "it did nothing!" while i had to bandage him from the stab into the centre of the *anti* stab vest

the asv was nurfed a few patches ago, I'm sure the quality of the vest will return but atm useless.

Btw yes, vests offer bullet protection, that's why i assume they protect against meele attacks too. Afaik the best protection is the riders jacket combined with the plate carrier, but you will have to wiki for further details as i can't remember for sure

next time i get saline and knife i will ask him if he'd like to try. btw i didnt know the riders jacket provided any decent dmg reduction
