Loot cycling still working on official server?
I can still empty an area, wait 10 mins, then coming back and find everything filled? Or they finally fixed the respawn times?

I think we now have to destroy the items, i emptied some sheds day before yesterday, and found the items still in the field 24hours later with no new loot spawned.

Yesterday i took a bunch of random small items and burnt them in a fire barrel at camp (thinking this will end the lifetime timer and respwan new stuff) will report back when i get online weather new stuff spawned :)

With the last update you mean?

"The restart of server no longer spawns new loot (ignoring restock timers) and loot is only spawned after restock timers run out"

They mean that they FINALLY added the restock timers to all loots? Not being abusable anymore?

Yeah this is with that update that added flagpoles aswell...32 large stones BI!! you monsters!!

TBH im not sure exactly how it works now, im sort of experimenting trying to figure it out. il know later if burning the items helped, but "restock timer" makes it seem like the items lifetme timer actually has nothing to do with when items restock...

Sometimes i wish the devs would put up an "idiots guide to patch notes" that just describes in gameplay terms what the changes actually mean :)

I wonder why nobody join this discussion. That's a pretty significant change but people seems do not talk about it.

Already using long restocktimers for most useful loot, means the longer lifetime isnt a real problem, but will see in the next werks

I do believe..

lifetime is the amount of time the item remains on the server before despawn. this is what has been increased in the update. so loot is not despawning as often as it was.

restock is the amount of time before cle repawns items when they reach the minimum amount on the server - for many items the restock time is 0 but certainly not for all items.

They are separate timers.

Destroying items will reduce their number but may not reduce it to the minimum amount to begin the restock timer.

I dropped something a few days ago and it is still there. If someone needed such an item I bet they would never find it.

I am wondering how it is going to be surviving as a new spawn with the new changes but I don't want to die to find out.

Not easy but far from impossible

Well yes and no. Yes it still works but now you have to wait so much longer for the items to respawn that its not worth it. So no. :)

Perfect, that's good. Now you have actual reason to move around the map.

This can largely depend on server pop. In a server with a high pop and quite a bit of PvP, the coastal towns can get picked completely clean of the essentials which starts a vicious cycle of starvation as more people die and respawn.

The restock timer persists through a restart now, so when an item hits it’s min value it will start restocking that item 1 every x seconds (x being it’s restock timer) or in bulk if set to 0. Say you had an item restock 1 every 12 hours but your server restarted every 4 hours, previously that wouldn’t work properly as it would never hit that 12 hour timer, a restart would set the timer back to 0 and that item wouldn’t ever start restocking.

It means you can make items relatively rare by giving them a long restock timer without having to enforce that rarity by counting those items when they are kept in stashes, tents etc which is how they made certain items rarer previously

Not sure this would have any impact on loot cycling, the longer lifetimes might though
