Hunting for VSD and LAR

I used to be able to find these rifles fairly frequently in the past, but for the life of me, over the past few months not a single one, even the Heli crashes seem to evade me. I play on my own server (Vanilla) which is very low pop most of the time, and I still keep finding even KA-M and M4's, so I don't think I'm looking at a case where the allocated #'s of VSD and LAR are in stashes in the ground. Just a run of pure bad luck or anyone else see the same?

I haven't seen a LAR or VSD in a while. Heard What sounded like a LAR in NOVO but I think they were hackers.

I don't know how many are actually in circulation , Maybe someone can enlighten us

They are there I've got 3 LAR & 2 VSD on a low pop server.
All found at heli crashes.

there are only 4 LAR on a vanilla official server.
I have never found a VSS though.

So excusilvey Helo crashes for VSD and FAL. ok

But they changed the frequency of spawns after that i'm sure

yeah, long time not seen any decent loot on official servers.

probably all grazed by script kiddies.

Don't make the same mistake i do and underestimate Dayz players and the time they put into the game.

One thing i found is that the heli crash loot can be:

really bad: normal military gear, boonie hats, boots etc.
really good: KA 101, LAR green gillie suit & gun wraps

They can be very hit & miss and distributed unevenly.

I've tested it a little by losing one LAR in a low pop server, i did find another one in a heli-crash later on bringing my total back to 3.


I think having the ability to bury guns and only having a set amount of rare weapons is a bit far for a game but i totally agree with hording in bases as they can be found and looted.

The loot will re-spawn anyway if the players don't interact with it.

Try persistence off servers..
Livonia have 6 or 8 persistence off.
I found SVD there on crashsite.
Didn't se Lar for a long time do..
If you guys have svd and want to trade it for lar or if you have lar and want to trade it for svd.
Or vss for m4 and etc.

I know one guy who can trade all of it..
Let me know..
Last time he wanted to give 2 x m4's for Lar..

Logged off about a month ago , Official East servers Livonia --- I currently have 2 LARS on me because they seem to be quite common at the smoking heli crash sites - Ammo not so common

The non smoking Heli Crash sites aren't so easy to find and have the rarer weapons I think --- Oh and I have never ever seen an M4

i just found a svd i had a mag for it that i keept for 6 days whit 5 bullets :))
