High end PC extremely bad FPS
So I just bought DayZ and my game runs like ♥♥♥♥, I have maxed out the settings and I'm hitting 75 fps at most but it suddenly drops to 50-60's for no reason and my GPU usage drops to 50-60% aswell. I tried lowest graphics and it maxed at around 100fps. I watched comparisons on YouTube and people run this game with max graphics at 150 fps. I also tried to use virtual resolution and set it at 1440p to force more GPU usage with no luck.

Specs
RX 5700 XT
RYZEN 7 3700X
16GB DDR4 3200MHZ

Using alienware 34" 21:9 3440x1440 gsync 120hz, would never get back to 16:9 :)

RTX 2080 on 3840x1080 on 70-80ish fps
I wish DayZ would be better optimized but hey it's DayZ and i take 60+ fps anytime 😊

If OP's rig is high end is my i9 9900kf a supercomputer?

Must be one, im sure. Also using i9 9900k @ 5.4ghz 24/7 at all cores with ht enabled on evga z390 dark, 32gb ddr4 4600, 2 evga 2080s, 2 m2s / 4 960gb ssds in raid 0. 1200w digital psu, customloops @ mora3 420.

How long is your .. ? :-D

That is the correct answer. It is Dayz, if you are rocking 60 fps then ur doing better then most. Compared to a few years ago dayz runs good. compared top arama 2 dayz the game is a gem.

Still using userbenchmark in 2020? lmao. They're all paid by Intel to ♥♥♥♥ on AMD. Full info about that, go read on reddit :)

The issue is not with low fps, the issue is that whenever my FPS drops my GPU utilisation goes from 99% (which is when I have over 150fps) to 30-40%.
Anyway I found a way to force it to be at 80% minimum while playing DayZ and I'm never dipping below 100fps.
To those saying this setup is not highend/made for gaming - high end term for most of the gamers means any setup that can run any AAA title at 60 fps max settings, which mine does, I didn't came here to compare my ♥♥♥♥'s size to yours so let this end there.
It is also funny how same people who are saying my rig isn't high end are saying there's no difference between 60fps and 144fps :D

Thanks for honest and helpful comments to everyone else.

Don't max out MSAA antialiasing. Difference between low and high is like 50 fps.

OP neglect to mention what the CAS latency on RAM , What case and cooling and how much free memory he has, all these can affect a rig for peak performance , especially if your rig is not ventilated enough, placed beneath your desk and starts overheating.
Overall though more than 60fps is overkill. Your rig sounds very good but even the best PC would suffer losses from bottlenecks and heating.

I've never gotten the gotta get my fps over 100 deal. I've played on monitors capable of it and all it does it make me feel sick, it's like modern tv's with interpolation I can't stand it.

Depends on the server, too much mods and other cosmetics are bad for good performance.
I play on New Era , PVE.. with about 120 fps.

Can you tell me how you managed to push it to minimum 80%? I'm also having issues playing and I got a rx6650xt and get like 70fps no matter if I play on low or ultra settings. I tried updating the drivers, making the game an exception for the antivirus, even tried lower resolutions but it's stuck to 70. This while I can get easily 200fps on other games like cs2 or maybe pubg.

Also, past few years radeon has been ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ the bed. I would stick to Nvidia and ignore all of the AMD "clearances" lmao
