Do you guys ever bother making the suit & going to Lantia?

Finally got the space suit made and im disappointed... didnt know you had no storage, thats a huge drawback.
And you make it to get to Lantia, what unique loot is in Lantia? The Gauss rifle obviously, and then the serum that makes you invisible to zombies... idk if these are worth having to wear this suit across the map.

All the work it takes too.. idk. I think ill just stick to plate carriers and A3 from now on

Generally speaking... the time invested <-> benefits you get is debatable...

Things like lantia and the spacesuit are just yet another endgamegoal that you aim for, for the sake of doing it.

The adventure and locations you travel along the way is part of your benefit kind of.

The Spacesuit wont turn you into a Halo soldier^^
because of the Nature of DayZ... its prolly not worth it. 1 shot to the face and all your progress is gone anyways :D

You can't it's enormous. It won't even fit in a barrel IIRC. If you want to stash a suit you can really only stash the components of the suit. I think Sumrak did that for a reason.

To the OP I've made the suit quite a few times now and been to Lantia. Honestly unless you are planning on going to Lantia I wouldn't bother unless you haven't made one before and just want to do it. Lantia has the Gauss rifle if the server you're playing on has the Gauss mod of course. In vanilla Lantia has the Aug AX, M4, suppressors and the VegaN injector to make you immune from zeds.

The suit does have some strengths though which you need to play to if you are going to wear one. IMO the suit's biggest strength is the immunity to cold and wet. Not having to ever make a fire on Namalsk is quite an advantage. You can be active when others need to put themselves in jeopardy making a fire.

The suit is no more protective than a black Lantia plate except on your legs but it does offer that protection without the weight penalty to stamina like the plate suffers from. You certainly aren't invincible. A freshie with a shotgun could take you out if they can get close enough. You always need to play the range game in the suit.

You really need to wear a belt with a knife sheath and holster for your zed killer. You have to maximise the space you have and even then you won't have room for food or other stuff you'd normally carry. Particularly if you are carrying a Lantia locator.

When I first make the suit and don't have a tank or battery yet I wear my gasmask with the filter in my inventory. You simply don't have the space in the inventory for the mask.

It's fun to do a few times but really not worth the hassle.

It's obviously not worth it other than doing it to say you did it. The biggest benefit to the suit is that you can tank a decent amount of shots. I've taken on squads where I'll get shot a handful of times but survive, while killing all of them. Other benefits to the suit is that you don't get cold. Is it worth all the work? Not really. Though, if you're playing DayOne, it's extremely easy to run along the east coast of Tara with a shovel and dig up people's filaments, blueprints, etc.

Run along the outer perimeter of trees along the coast, and check the trees near the land-bridges. If you're patient and have a good eye, you'll find a few stashes.

there are some tricks you can do after getting the suite but you dont even need it to go to lantia at all ;)

the maximum time that can be spent in Lantia is a little over 7 minutes if you dont want to stay there. Loot there differs from server to server, but the originaly Lantia have unique loot that cannot be found anywhere else. No backpack is little bit annoying. For example, the MiddleGroundZ server has NBC pouches that can hold a lot of loot. This server also has stoarge where this suit can be placed. Going to Lantia and doing that mission is definitely a big adventure. When you go once, it's much easier to make repeat trips.

You could hold onto a backpack and jump through the portals. You just won't be able to jump through the last portal if you're too encumbered.

need help. we got the suite. with batterys and O² tank. start flax while evr storm at athena2. driven to athena1. close suite helmet, jump to athena3 and died in cause of gas...... now maybe again loot some filaments craft the suit at phönix, loot the locator at phönix and so on.... is it worth, and where was the mistake? we are think about to change the game. was a long way and we are really really demotivated

You need to tap K to close visor then hold K to pressurize the suit. You will die if you don't pressurize the suit.
