Best guns DayZ 1.0x?

I just want your opinions, guys.
I play with almost all the guns.
My favorite guns are SKS and Mosin.
I like M4, and all the AK's

Which are the best guns? (talking about damage and recoil control)
You can also include modded guns, because I really don't know which ones are good, and I kind of stick to the vanilla ones.

M4 with 60 rounds + silencer.
Low recoil, very accurate and strong..
Lar to me is great for everything but i pefer to have m4 allways with me + let say mosin or svd.
Lar is just to hard to find so it hearts when you loose it.

There's not much to say to be honest, the FAL is the best gun in the game, for overall performance. It can adapt to any situation, is effective at any range and fires the most powerful round along the 7.62mmR. Compared to its closest competitor, the SVD, FAL magazines are far more common and hold twice the amount of ammo, and can fire full auto. All this while firing a technically identical round and mounting a technically identical scope.

As for Assault Rifles, AK74 has the lowest recoil (same round weight as the 5.56mm NATO but with less initial velocity) so I would take that over any M4 or AKM.

If you want a sniper rifle the choice is between the Winchester and the Blaze, because they can mount the most powerful scope. They both have pros and cons, Blaze can fire two quick shots but has a massive recoil compared to the Winnie, which fires five rounds that need to be chambered. In short, for long range safe shots the Winnie si better, Blaze can come in handy also on medium ranges, but has problems with the follow up at long distance.

All in all, keeping in mind that all intermediate (5.45, 5.56 and 7.62 AK) and full power cartridges (.308 and 7.62mmR) deal the same amount of damage, it's not hard to narrow down to the best weapon in all the categories.

Lar .308 is not most powerful round. It is 7.62x54 used by mosin and svd mate..

They may have marginally different ballistics, but they have the same damage and penetration values.

Not due to length of a gun barrel..
Svd and mosin especially svd is much powerful on long distance then lar..

Depends on what you mean by "long distance" really.

The ballistics might be better, but a 800m shot is sure easier to score with a 8x Long Range Scope, rather than the 4x of the PSO-1 or the 3.5x of the PU.

Because of scope limitations the SVD is still a remarkable weapon, but shots above 400-500m start to be problematic. Same for the FAL, which mounts a 4x ACOG, but at those ranges I rather have the FAL, which I can turn into an effective AR if needs come. The SVD on the other hand is too "specialized", it's a decent medium range sniper rifle, but in other situations is just an overpowered SKS.

7.62x54 is slightly bigger then .308 but with long gun barrel give's you extra let say 5% of penetration value..
When you use lar and svd above 300m use use semi auto on both weapons.
And both are to lond for breaching.. al do lar have auto option..
Thats way it is better for me to use svd or mosin and m4..with 60 rounds instead of lar 20

In other words, if you run with a FAL you can adapt it as your ranged primary weapon along with another AR or a UMP for short range, or you can use it as your secondary along with a proper sniper rifle, with the SVD you are limited to the ranged option, knowing that still doesn't excel in that.

Just like the FAL, but a primary-secondary loadout is easier to pull with the FAL, stick it with a Blaze or a Winchester and you will be ready for everything.

With an SVD you need a sniper rifle and a short range automatic.

I would love to see these differences implemented in the game, but as far as I know, bullet damage and penetration are copy pasted for all ammo in the same category. Only pistol cartridges and the 9x39mm are different.

I never measured them, but an M4 or AK with a suppressor on doesn't feel much smaller than a FAL... The SVD on the other hand is a spear.

There is no best weapons doing all.
Better to have 2 guns specialized for different purpose..
When you loose lar you will not be happy cos it is very hard to get one.
Svd, Mosin or m4 are easy to get.
