My best guess though is that they might construct an in-game customization Store like Rust has.
Ever since Bohemia stopped publishing yearly roadmaps there has been no information as to what they are working on. All I know for sure is that there will be another Halloween-themed update next month just like last year.
Maybe they stopped publishing the roadmap because they are working on Dayz 2. I read a news story from June 28, in which Microsoft documents were leaked and they said that Bohemia was already working on Dayz 2.
Yes, I know it's only a few hours. But I like it when there is a variety of maps. In fact, Livonia and Chenarus are quite similar in terms of vegetation, buildings, and more.
I'm not saying I don't like them, I'd just like to see more.
Since 2019 they have not introduced any map.
apart from that is an official new map a selling argument that would suit DayZ 2 better.
personally I'd like to see Everon, Malden and Kolgujew - the original Operation Flashpoint maps - remastered for DayZ.
I read a post somwhere about DLC weapons that stick between servers/deaths, so I hope not.
If yer looking for Maps just try Deer Isle and the others.
Just try out a vanilla deer isle server. Trust me.
:) okay, I'll trust you.
I've played on community servers before, it just so happens that some of them were too "custom". In one, for example, you start with a bottle of Vozka and a gun. In another you start in a lobby like PUBG with all the people dancing... it's fun, but only for half an hour.
A vanilla server with the Deer Island map interests me more
The core gameplay feels a bit dated and rigid in terms of rules. In other things it is impressive: physics, realism...
(The loot is too scarce in my rookie opinion)
hmm weird. I didn't say any of those things.
You know what they say about assuming...
If they are working on it, it's very unlikely we will see it anytime soon. All their staff are going to be working on Arma 4 which is their next release.
Official servers are vanilla
By saying they're "half-assed afterthoughts", you're saying that official servers are inadequate to some degree and presumably not very fun to play on
If official servers are inadequate and they are a 1:1 representation of the intended gameplay, then you are saying the core gameplay is inadequate and has to be fixed/improved/added on to in order to be more enjoyable
There's no other way to interpret what you said. If something that is a direct result of a base is "half-assed", then that means the base is "half-assed" and needs to be better. It's the equivalent of taking a block of ice (DayZ core gameplay) and crushing it it to turn it into a snow cone (DayZ official servers) and saying that it needs flavoring (DayZ mods) to be good. By saying that the flavorless snow cone is inadequate, you are indirectly saying the block of ice is inadequate and needs flavoring to be adequate.
I understand, that's why there are so many discounts for Arma 3
